The USFSP Anthropology Club is a student organized and governed club that invites the participation of Anthropology majors and non-majors, who are interested in creating and attending events surrounding the biological, cultural, archaeological, and linguistic studies of humans in the past and the present.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2009-2010
Sept. 14- Sept. 18. International Otopame Colloquium. Conference focused on the indigenous peoples of Mexico held on the USFSP Campus Davis 263. See Dr. Ella Schmidt, Organizer, for details. Most of the presentations will be in Spanish. See Below for English presentation.
Sept. 17 Thursday, 6pm-7pm; Jacques Galinier "Without and Within: The Mesoamerican Community at stake in the Mexican New Age."Florida Center for Teachers (FCT) Room 118N
Sept. 30th Wednesday, 5pm-6pm Coquina 232; Angie R., Rob D., Tracy H., & Traci K will be discussing summer field schools and projects they did. (two anthro & two arch)
Oct. 10th Saturday, Time TBA, Weedon Island Kayaking Trip.
Nov. 11th Tuesday 430pm-530/6pm Location TBA; Bob Austin will becoming in to discuss his work & cgcas.
We will also be having Nancy Romero-Diaz, the new head of the Graduate Anthropology program in Tampa, coming in sometime around late Oct. or early Nov. It will most likely be on a Monday or a Friday in the morning to work with her schedule. There will be an email sent to you once the time & date are secured.
