The Diversity Office

The mission of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg Diversity Office is to support the mission, values and goals of the university.  Supported by the Office of the Regional Chancellor, the Diversity Office is primarily concerned with enabling the University to uphold its core value of respecting the diversity and varied perspectives of individuals, and commitment to tolerance of divergent views.  The Diversity Office is also charged with enabling the University to meet its goal of creating “a culture that in its composition, attitudes, and actions respects, encourages and embodies diversity.”

The Diversity Officer

To achieve the mission of the University, the Diversity Officer is responsible for:

  • providing leadership and leverage activities and initiatives across the university to foster excellence through diversity and inclusion,
  • serving as a resource on recruitment of diverse faculty and staff,
  • serving as a resource on recruitment for underrepresented students,
  • reinforcing or developing policies and programs that create positive change in university climate, and
  • serving as a liaison to constituencies in the local community.
