Nominations Invited for Two Research Award Programs

  • Outstanding Research Achievement Award
  • Excellence in Innovation Award

The Outstanding Research Achievement Award recognizes faculty who have received truly exceptional recognition of their research with preeminent awards, grants or publications in top journals during the 2008 calendar year.

The Excellence in Innovation Award recognizes exceptional achievement in technological innovation and its transfer to practice, industrial partnerships, and/or commercialization during the 2008 calendar year.

Faculty may self nominate for the Innovation Awards. All nominations for the Outstanding Research Achievement Awards must come from the Department Chair or Center/Institute Director and endorsed by the Dean.

Nominations and support documents are due by September 1, 2009. Award recognition is during a special event for research week or ResearchOne, October 5-9, 2009.

 

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)

2009 SUMMER STIPENDS Program

Summer Stipends provide support to individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to scholars and general audiences in the humanities. Summer stipends provide $6,000 for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. Recipients must work full-time on their projects for these two months, and may hold other research grants supporting the same project during this time. Summer stipend normally support work carried out during two summer months, but arrangements can be made for other times of the year.

Fulbright Scholar Program

The Fulbright Scholar Program is one of the most important ways in which faculty have the opportunity to conduct research and lecture abroad. Multiple opportunities exist for faculty to participate as Fulbright scholars from the Traditional Fulbright Scholar Program (one semester to an academic year) to the Fulbright Specialist Program with awards from 2-6 weeks in duration.
